Smart dialogs for in-vehicle infotainment
The increasing popularity of voice assistants (VAs) such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Baidu’s DuerOS has created an opportunity to extend their reach into the car, and to use the underlying technology to drive in-vehicle voice dialog. However, this is still a considerable challenge, since VA technology only supports basic dialog capabilities and lacks a framework to integrate external knowledge sources.
In this free webinar, Soyuj Kumar Sahoo and Dr Timo Sowa, Voice User Experience experts at Elektrobit, discuss a dialog tooling and management solution for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) applications to export, deploy, and maintain dialog models for commercially available voice assistants.
The approach is brand-agnostic and can be integrated with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The core advantages of the Elektrobit solution are vendor-independent dialog modelling and VA integration, as well as improved dialog capabilities for automotive applications. This flexible dialog tooling framework simplifies the modelling of complex voice user interfaces that employ domain models for internal and external knowledge sources, even without writing any code.
Furthermore, an abstraction layer between the vehicle’s HMI and the VA allows a faster, more flexible, and continuous integration of the voice assistant into an IVI platform.
